First Night Ride

I've been extremely scared of even the thought of going for a night ride, every time Jeff mentioned it I would tense up & my stomach makes a little flip, but I decided to give it a try anyway! We had just gotten back fro the Old Pueblo race & since we had some really nice lights that his team mates let him borrow I decided what better time than now? specially since we were giving back the lights soon & I'm not sure when we'll be getting such nice lights ourselves.

The night was actually a little chilly I think when we got back home we found out it was high 40's...like I said chilly, and it was really cloudy & windy and we even had a little rain....but we still went. I had a blast!!!! It was really different, but exhilarating. We went up Pima Canyon took a couple of pictures

Tadda!!!

I know I look like an alien, but I was warm! then we decided to go onto dessert classic but Jeff got too cold since we were going at my pace.....which specially at night is really, really slow...

So we went back home before his toes turned to little ice cubes and I was very happy with my first experience riding in the night.

That was until the second time we went which was about a month later.

we finished dinner at about 9 pm and decided it was a perfect night it was in the cool 70's no rain no wind and we still had one set of the "good" lights, it was going to be a "short" ride so we didn't charge the lights all the way....there's the first mistake!

We rode about 5 miles I felt very confident so I told Mi Amor we could keep going after a couple of more miles e asked me again if I was dong OK, and I said yeah we might as well finish the loop it's only a couple of more miles, so we did however on the way back before a steep downhill all of a sudden my lights were not so bright. but I said sure I can make it plus this is the last "steep" downhill.....made it down except I couldn't see the Little bump at the bottom of it and I ended up on the ground. Scabbed my left knee for the what is it now? tenth time? about that I guess.

I love it though it's a challenge and I'm not backing down, yet.....he,he
